Final Four: Elimination Results (Spoiler Alert!)

First, let me apologize for being slack about this entry. This weekend has been one of my busier as of late, and I never found a quite moment to form my thoughts. Excuses or not, please forgive my tardiness.

Wednesday night's episode was done in typical Results show fashion. It was more dramatic than usual, but not to the point that should have had anyone worried. Here are my observations.

1. Commercial sucked again. It was shot sort of cool, but would have been better had it been given at least some glimmer of meaning or plot. Running around the desert for no reason is sorta stupid. Come on Ford...but it's not like I expect any better

2. The group song is another live performance. Horray for doing away with lip syncing this week! What we get from this performance is that these are the 5 deserving people to be here. What we also learn is that Kris is on speed. Homie snaps in quadruple time! Calm it down there, bud. What is it with short people being energetic as mess? I don't understand ;).

3. The video of the week was pretty funny. It showed Danny and Allison celebrating their birthday's with a huge food fight. Honestly, it looked pretty fun. Ryan asked who started it and Allison throws Danny under the bus by ratting on him. Ryan gives him a cleaning bill for 6 grand large! WHAT?! Cleaning ladies make BANK!! Ryan says that Danny has to pay it, unless he wins. Then Idol will cover it. Danny looks a little worried.

4. The bottom 3 is revealed a little differently this time. Matt was asked to stand on the right side of the stage and Danny was placed on the left. Allison joined Danny and Kris joined Matt. This leaves Adam alone with Seacrest...never a good thing. Ryan asks Adam to pick which group he thinks he belongs in. Surprisingly, Adam actually DOES pick a group. Usually they just stand there until Ryan places them. Adam picks Danny and Allison's group, which is the better group I'd say, but Ryan informs him that while they are safe, Adam is not and he has to go join Matt and Kris. DRAMA! The widely regarded runaway favorite is in the bottom 3 for the first time. Danny and Allison's faces are priceless as they try to act "genuinely" shocked that they are safe and he is in the bottom 3. And of course, commercial break.

5. Now we go to our guest performers. This is what we can take away. a) Natalie Cole has a huge mouth and like 64 teeth. b) Taylor Hicks still sucks. His first CD wasn't just a fluke. He also is terrible about pretending to play guitar when he's not . It was the most obvious thing I've ever seen. c) Jamie Foxx and his vocoder can get on out. I hate that effect that rappers and R&B artists are now using ALL the time. I'm oddly enough ok with T-Pain doing it, since it's his gimmick, but no one else should be allowed to. Sort of like Snoop and his "-izzle's." Chingy should have never touched that.

6. One member of the bottom three is sent to safety, and that is Kris. People everywhere are STILL shocked that Adam is in this predicament, but I'm not. Don't get me wrong, Adam does not belong there, but Ryan never said anything about highest and lowest vote getters. I don't think that Adam being in the "bottom 2" means that he got the second least amount of votes. I think this is all a ploy by producers to spice up the competition a little bit, get America to think that the untouchable contestant is not invincible, and make it seem like they have a little more of a race on their hands to the finish line. Also, this puts Adam in a great position to win. It makes his fans think that they have to go bonkers on the phone lines for the next few weeks...which is all that is left of the show. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gokey in the bottom 3 next week also, following the same formula.

With less and less contestants week in and week out, there is less and less to write about. Don't worry though, the predictions for "Rock Week" will be up tomorrow. I'm pretty excited about this. I thought that last week was the best I've seen from a top 5, so I expect that our Final Fantastic 4 will give showstopping performances. Until next time...

Your American Idol,

Billy

I thought Natalie Cole's performance was bad, too, but I think she's sick or something. Doesn't she have Hepatitis or something?

Hahaha... short people being as energetic as mess! Probably cause they don't have enough room in their bodies for all their energy to disperse.... this applies to small children as well, and of course our favorite AI junkie! I can't even try to imagine Billy not being as energetic as mess :)

I thought Taylor Hicks was really great on Wednesday! Loooked awesome and sounded great - and plays a mean harp, bro!
